8. HOW TO STORE LIPSTICKS IN HOT WEATHER?
If you want to know how to store lipsticks for a long time, the answer is to keep them at a clean, dry place and at ‘room temperature’. But in hot tropical summers, lipsticks tend to melt and get ruined. An easy solution is to just pop it in the fridge for a few minutes until it returns to its normal consistency. This trick can prove helpful especially while traveling when one has to carry their makeup bag for long. Just throw in some frozen gel packs!
Do take note that if refrigerated for long, drops of oil, also called sweat, starts forming on the lipstick surface due to a process known as syneresis. When this happens, it loses consistency and the color won’t spread well on the lips.

To depot lipsticks, cut a pea-sized amount of your favourite colors, melt them and transfer to an empty shadow-palette, container, etc. One can depot without melting but it tends to appear slightly messy. Either way, it’s an effective way to reduce weight off your travel make-up bag.
